The NoHo Arts District in the San Fernando Valley
The NoHo Arts District is located in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles, California. The area is known for its many art galleries, theaters, and music venues. History of NoHo Arts District
The NoHo Arts District got its start in the early 1970s when a group of artists and musicians set up studios and rehearsal spaces in abandoned warehouses in North Hollywood. In 1978, the city of Los Angeles officially designated the area as an “artist’s district.” By the 1990s, the neighborhood had transformed into a thriving arts community with theaters, art galleries, and music venues.
Today, the NoHo Arts District is home to over 30 art galleries, 15 theater companies, and several music venues. The district hosts a number of events throughout the year, including art walks, film festivals, and live concerts.
