JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK IN SAN BERNARDINO

Joshua Tree National Park in San Bernardino

Joshua Tree National Park: A Guide for San Bernardino Residents

For those of us who live in San Bernardino, Joshua Tree National Park is right in our backyard. And yet, many of us have never been! If you’re looking for a fun (and safe) activity to do with your family or friends, I highly recommend paying a visit to Joshua Tree. Here’s what you need to know before you go.

Getting There
Joshua Tree National Park is located about two hours east of Los Angeles. If you’re coming from San Bernardino, take the I-10 East until you reach the Twentynine Palms Highway exit. From there, it’s a straight shot to the park entrance. Once you’re there, you can choose to either camp overnight or just spend the day. If you’re planning on camping, make sure to book your spot in advance as spots fill up fast!

What to Bring
Whether you’re camping overnight or just spending the day, there are a few things you should make sure to bring with you. First and foremost, always remember to pack plenty of water—it gets hot in the desert and you don’t want to get dehydrated. It’s also a good idea to bring some snacks, sunscreen, and a hat or sunglasses to protect yourself from the sun. Finally, if you’re planning on doing any hiking, make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring along a map of the trails.

Things To Do
There are plenty of activities available at Joshua Tree for both adventure seekers and those who prefer to take things at a slower pace. Popular activities include hiking, rock climbing, and picnicking. Or, if you’re looking for something more low-key, simply take a scenic drive through the park or go for a leisurely stroll and take in the incredible views. No matter what you choose to do, I’m sure you’ll have a great time!

If you’ve been looking for something fun (and safe) to do with your family or friends, I hope this guide has convinced you to finally pay a visit to Joshua Tree National Park! With its incredible views and plethora of activities available, there really is something for everyone at Joshua Tree National Park! So what are you waiting for? Pack your bags and head on out!
